We each have a life story, penned without ink, read by the people around us. Who's writing your story?

Photos

We've all heard the saying, "A picture is worth a thousand words." How many times have you poured over a photo, taking in each and every detail, trying to put the story together at a deeper level? When I read Joni Eareckson Tada's account of her diving accident, I studied the pictures in the center of the book. Whether it's a desire for a more complete understanding or just a bit of curiosity, seeing real life photos adds another dimension to any story.

I wish we had more pictures from our story that began with a car crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. In the process of writing Penned Without Ink: Trusting God to Write Your Story, I found the envelope of photos. Each seemed to draw me back in time as I let my mind wander down hospital hallways, to hushed uncertain bedsides, and into busy rehab rooms. Once more, I looked into the concerned eyes of my children and our extended family. With tears running down my cheeks, I recalled more than what happened. I remembered God's grace.

Perhaps a few pictures will help you appreciate our story in a deeper way. And if you're just a little curious, that's okay too!

  1. Thank you, Vicki, for sharing your thoughts about God's faithfulness over many years. And thanks for mentioning my mom. I just finished using her Transformed by Renewing Bible Study with a young woman I'm mentoring . . . those truths never get old. I appreciate your encouragement and am glad you enjoyed PENNED. May God bless you in your daily walk and ministry.
